It’s truly amazing how fast a year goes by. One year ago I had the privilege of playing golf on the Copperhead Course with Hall of Fame linebacker, Derrick Brooks. I want to take a moment and give thanks to Derrick Brooks again, for his inspirational words. I asked Mr. Brooks how it felt when he ran out onto the field in the Super Bowl. I said, “were you scared or nervous?” His answer to me was truly life altering. He said, “I knew what I had to do. There was no fear. Just excitement.” “I had butterflies for the first play only, after that, I was on a mission.” He said, “they were trained and prepared, no need to be nervous.”
Those words may have been merely a relay of emotions to him, but to me, they were just what I needed to hear. I used Mr. Brook’s motivation to embark on my own journey of starting my own business. One year later, I have accomplished so much, and Derrick Brooks’ motivational words continue to be a driving force.
